Hotels in Yakutsk can be arranged according to your requirements and budget. Yakutsk offers a wide variety of hotels up to 4 star standard. We will endeavour to find you a suitable hotel based on service, style, location and facilities. On tours outside of the city, you can expect hotels in the cities on route to your destination to be normal, clean and with simple facilities. In the villagers you will expect to stay in private houses. Overnights in the countryside, you will stay in Yakutian style tents or modern tents depending on the tour. Full details of the accommodation will be provided in the detailed itinerary.
Road transportation will be by a comfortable, new (or as new) UAZ minibus which is perfect for the Yakutian terrain and takes up to 5 people. Some tours may include planes, helicopters, boats and cruise ships. Your detailed itinerary will include information on the various transport options used on each tour.
Our English speaking guides are all native Yakutians who are passionate about the republic. They will be with you throughout your tour and take care of you. They will translate, guide, explain and offer cultural and historical insights to Yakutia.
Travel to Oymyakon is not dangerous as long as certain safety precautions are taken. All tours will have a minimum 2 vehicles on route so if one gets in trouble the other is at hand to help. A satellite phone is taken in case of emergency. Extra gas is taken in case gas runs out. On some road tours a SPOT tracker is taken and the tour registered with the Russian Ministry of Emergency (EMERCON).
We take safety very seriously at Discover-Yakutia. We make sure the tour providers have proven to us they have fully implemented safety measures before we offer any tours.
